摘     要：In this talk, I would like to promote the use of NcFEMs (nonconforming finite element methods) rather than the traditional conforming counter parts (CFEMs, the Conforming FEMs). The lecture will begin with explaining why the idea of NcFEMs is more natural and adequate in the approximation of solutions from PDEs. Several developments will be reviewed in brief. Then some remarks on recent progresses in the theory and practices of NcFEMs will be delivered.

简     介：Dongwoo Sheen，韩国首尔国立大学教授，韩国计算数学学会理事长，博士师从世界知名计算数学家 Jim Douglas 教授。曾在意大利帕维亚大学和普渡大学的博士后研究员。1993年被首尔大学聘请为助理教授。在首尔大学创立并主持了计算科学与技术的跨学科项目多年，他的研究兴趣包括流体和固体力学、电动力学、数学金融和数学生物学等应用领域的数值分析和科学计算。2012年，获得了韩国科技部长的嘉奖证书，以表彰他在韩国超级计算机领域的贡献。
